Warts are skin infection caused by human papilloma virus. It is a small growth with a rough texture that can appear anywhere on the body.

1. What are different types of warts?

Plain warts appear on the face and neck. They are round, flat, and smooth. They grow often on areas of the body that have prolonged exposure to the sun.

Plantar warts are painful and they affect the feet and the hands. They appear on the heels or toes. Warts are contagious, especially genital warts.

2. Are warts cancerous?

Most warts are relatively harmless, especially ones appearing on the palms and feet. However few strains of HPV, which causes genital warts, may lead to cervical cancer.

3. What are the treatment options does Derma-Care offer for warts?

There are various topical medications available for warts, but most are not effective.

  • Liquid nitrogen-freezing: This method forms a blister to under the wart. The wart will fall off within a week.
